25 Random Things
1. Some people who are close to me know that I have a girl crush on Jada Pinkett Smith and Trina.
2. I am truly grateful for/appreciate the smallest things. For example:
a. I personally thanked a few of my neighbors for shoveling the snow off the sidewalk for us pedestrians.
b. I knocked on the doors for a few neighbors to thank them for their Christmas lights, they gave me pleasure on my walk home from work.
c. Sometimes I give 50% gratuity if a server can remember all the little details of my meal without having to write it down AND if they refill my drink before it’s half empty .
d. I look forward to my mom’s daily text message: “kiss 4 today love u smile”.
e. I think I’m the only person in the middle of the grind that actually stops to smell flowers!
f. On nights that the sky is clear, before I enter my house, I look up to admire the moon and thank God for it.
3. I don’t like telling people that I’m a Gemini because of the stigmas our personalities carry. Superficial? Two-faced? Changeable? I prefer to be referred to as adaptable, versatile, intellectual and eloquent! :)
4. I just realized that music is very prevalent in my life. I have a system of some sort in every room and I carry my ipod everywhere. Even at work, there is music. If I’m not sleep or mediating, I’m listening to music.
5. My very first aspiration in life was to be an oceanographer.
6. With respect to #5., I can’t swim. This is despite the fact that many people have tried to teach me. I’m the only person in the family that can’t swim! I swear, I sink straight to the bottom!
7. I think I’m the only YBG (of the young, black, gifted generation) that secretly thought “America” would never allow a black man to become president. Even after Obama won the election, I thought the “Powers that be” would rule it somehow unconstitutional and impeach him before he was inaugurated. Today, I’m 150% glad to be an American! I still get emotional when I think of the history that has been made. In retrospect, I believe that the climate of the world and the Will of the Universe deemed Obama the inevitable leader of the free world. It was his destiny and I am glad to have been born in this era.
8. I secretly want to be a rapper. Lol…
9. The first time I completed a novel, cover to cover, was in the 10th grade!!! Since then, I believe I’ve read more books than the avid book reader has read in a lifetime!!! (yeah, my collection is sick and still growing)
10. I believe you can change a person’s life with kind words or a good book.
11. My vision is so bad that I’m supposed to wear them daily to function, but instead I only wear them when I drive.
12. Sometimes, because I might be busy for a period of time, I fail to keep in contact with family and friends. If enough time has passed and I’m not as busy, I still don’t communicate with them because I feel guilty for not being able to answer their calls when they reached out (even though they might be in my daily thoughts). THEN, I continue to feel bad…. Until months later when I finally decide I can’t take it and call. I’m such a bad friend, niece, cousin, daughter, God Mother… but I’m working on it! lol
13. I think I’m a very likable person. I also believe that everybody will like me if they got to know me and if they don’t, they’re being a hater.
14. I only wear socks in the winter.
15. I don’t think I favor my mother or my father….nor anyone else in my family. Dag, was I adopted? lol
16. As soon as I start my own business, I will get a nose piercing.
17. Very few of my subordinates or colleagues know how young I am.
18. I think fishing is a great time for self development and self reflection. Plus its fun!
19. I lived by myself for four months with no television and no internet. Literally, I chose not to own a TV set or pc.
20. Becoming a member of Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, Inc. still remains one of the best decisions and most memorable experiences in undergrad! I became a better individual and realized my capacity for camaraderie and endurance. I mean, damn! I survived growing up in the Hood and PLEDGING, I’m that b*$%h! lol.
21. According to my father, my mother wanted to name me Catherine Victoria, but he convinced her to change it to Angelia… “Somehow” it got misspelled on the birth certificate. I'm officially Angela. Thank goodness!
22. I love men’s cologne more I do woman’s perfume. I would wear cologne if I thought people at work won’t look at me funny.
23. When I was in elementary school, I craved the taste of vinegar. I ate pickles, salt and vinegar chips, “hot sausages”, pickled eggs, pickled pigs feet, sunflower seeds w/ vinegar, etc, etc, EVERYDAY. I think I even got admitted to the hospital twice due to dehydration! Lol
24. I am not flexible at all! I have never been able to touch my toes.
25. I still play with my original Nintendo and SNES! I buy games on ebay for $1 and I keep my DS lite on my nightstand.

Hail to the....
Tomlin and his “Obama-esk” story; him being the youngest NFL coach to have been a part of a super bowl game, let alone super bowl winner. Listening to his speech when he accepted the Lombardy trophy magnified his humility.
Both critics and football fans claim that it was the most exciting super bowl yet.
